Our story

Our journey began in August 2024, when Theo Tjandra — founder and creative mind behind Truth or Dare — set out to build his cocktail bar concept through a series of local and international pop-ups. Inspired by his travels, the bars he experienced overseas, and the venues he worked at throughout his career, Theo brought pieces of cocktail culture from across Asia to Auckland, New Zealand.

In June 2025, Truth or Dare opened its long-term pop-up at Snickel Lane, offering guests a glimpse into the world of the future bar concept. From the ambience and curated menu selection to collaborations and heartfelt hospitality, every detail was designed to reflect the experience and identity behind Truth or Dare.
